Laiyo Nakahashi
Native of Osaka, Japan, came to New York in 2005 to study Acoustic because of her forte, Sound Detection. Laiyo is a technical director and a sound creator in Spinnin Ronin, the theatre martial arts dance company led by Tsuyoshi Kaseda.
As a performer, Laiyo is known as a drummer who plays Funk, R&B, Blues, Rock, and sometimes PUNK JAZZZZZZ... She started playing piano and violin when she was younger, and met Jazz drumming and funky bass line when she was 17. Laiyo is an assistant concertmaster in Downtown Symphony Orchestra, a member of Japanese drum group Taiko Masala, and Tsukeita(Kabuki style live sound effect) player in Samurai Sword Soul. She recently became a tour member of a Pop Rock band Stoley PT as a bass player. In Japan, she was involved in many choreography as a dancer and currently she has been studing Wushu while she continues her dance experience.
